Nishad Bakre, born 29th November 1981, inherited the musical tradition from his parents. He started taking his early music lessons at an age of six from his father Shri Sadashiv Bakre. Later on he took a systematic and rigorous training from Dr. Ram Deshpande for 10 years, through traditional effective system of Gurukul. Further, he received guidance and advanced training from late Pt. Dinkar Kaikini, Pt. Madhukar Joshi and Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar. In this process, Shri. Bakre learned the style of rendition in the Gwalior, the Jaipur and the Agra Gharanas. He has completed the Sangeet Alankar in Vocal Classical from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in the year 2008 with a First Class. He has received the A-Grade of the All India Radio in the year 2011. Nishad Bakre has been rewarded by the Kesarbai Kerkar Scholarship from National Centre for Performing Arts in the year 2003 and The National Scholarship For Young Artistes given by The Cultural Dept. of Central Govt. of India for the 2003-04. Further he has bagged the Yuva Puraskar by the Kanebuwa Pratishthan, Pune. He has been also awarded the Acharya Shrikrishna Ratanjankar Puraskar (Mumbai) in the year 2008 and the Gyana Pravah Scholarship (Kolkata) for the year 2008-09. Shri. Nishad Bakre has performed at numerous venues in India and abroad and has an Audio CD to his credit.
